Overview
J.C. Johnston III was born and raised in Wooster, Ohio, and returned to his hometown in 1975 after he completed law school at Northwestern University. J.C. joined Critchfield as an associate, where his father John Johnston Jr. was a named partner. During the course of his long and distinguished career at the firm, J.C. has developed an extensive practice in the areas of business law and business succession planning, estate planning and probate law, and non-profit organizations.
J.C. has been actively involved in the local community for many years, serving as a Trustee of the Wooster/Wayne Legal Aid Society, Wayne Center for the Arts, Junior Achievement of Wayne County and the Wooster YMCA. He is also a former Trustee of The College of Wooster. J.C. continues to serve as a Trustee of the Wayne County Community Foundation, which he helped establish in 1978.
