Matthew A. Long

Overview

Matthew Long is the Chair of the firm’s Real Estate Department and focuses his practice on commercial real estate development and leasing, family business succession planning, private family trust company formation and governance, and corporate law. Matt primarily assists families and institutional clients with significant real estate holdings, as well as frequently serves as local counsel for Ohio real estate matters. Matt is also the President of the firm’s affiliated title insurance agency, Heartland Title Agency, LLC.

Matt first joined the firm in the summer of 2006 as a law clerk, and became an Associate after earning his juris doctorate from The University of Dayton School of Law in 2008. The firm’s Members elected Matt as a fellow Member in 2014.

A sixth generation Wooster native, Matt is heavily involved in the civic life of the community, serving on the boards of a local corporation, a private family trust company, and a local charitable foundation.
