Overview
John Waltman is now retired from the practice of law, but was an esteemed Holmes County lawyer, having lived and worked in Millersburg and surrounding communities for the majority of his 50-year legal career. John was a member of the firm for nearly all of those 50 years, where he developed a thriving practice in general estate planning and probate work, as well as real estate and corporate law.
In retirement, John remains committed to the betterment of Holmes County and its citizens, particularly when it comes to encouraging further education. He was one of the founding trustees of The Holmes County Education Foundation (HCEF), first formed in 1989. Since 1991, over $9 million has been granted for the betterment of Holmes County youth and adults through HCEF awards of college scholarships, professional development grants, Amish Vocational Training grants, Senior Series grants, and assistance to the Holmes County College Access Program.
