DOL Issues Poster and FAQs on Employee Rights under Families First Coronavirus Response Act

The Families First Coronavirus Response Act (the “Act”) requires employers with fewer than 500 employees to provide employees with paid sick leave and expanded family and medical leave for specified reasons related to the COVID-19 pandemic. The provisions go into effect on April 1, 2020.

The Department of Labor (“DOL”) issued additional guidance, including a poster and FAQs, to assist both employers and employees in understanding the requirements of the Act.

Employers must display the notice posters in a conspicuous location on the work premises by April 1. Given that many workers are currently working from home, the requirement may also be met by emailing or mailing the notice to employees or by posting the notice on a company intranet or website.

A PDF version of the poster is available HERE.

FAQs regarding the poster are available HERE

Our in-depth discussion of the details of the Act is set out in our post, “Coronavirus Relief Bill Signed.”
